Welcome to Usable Image
Welcome to the web site of the Usable Image project, a collaboration between the School of Computing and College of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee.
We are exploring how user-centred software design approaches can influence the development of complex scientific software, using the development of OMERO - a microscopy image management system - as the focus of our work.
On this site you'll find information about the project:- who we are - the people behind the Usable Image Team
- aims and objectives - what we are doing and why
- activities - past and future
- progress and output, including publications, presentations and other publicity material
-
how you can get involved - whether you are a scientist, a developer or someone else interested in the research questions we are trying to address.
We work closely with the Open Microscopy Environment - visit their web site for more information on the development work taking place there.
The Usable Image project is funded by the EPSRC (project reference: EP/D050014/1) under their e-Science programme, for 3 years from October 2006 to September 2009.
